"Building Healthy Community with our neighbors in Northwest Rockford."
Northwest Neighbors Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works in the northwest area of Rockford, Illinois, to foster hope in our community. It was founded in 2018 by residents, business owners, faith leaders, and elected officials to counteract the effects of closures and the boarding up of significant community resources in the neighborhoods where we live, work, play, and worship. We believe in the neighbors and neighborhoods that make up the Northwest area of Rockford
As Northwest Neighbors Inc. we are working together to make our city a better and safer place to live. We have a primary focus on increasing one of our strongest assets in northwest Rockford, affordable housing. We are dedicated to and determined to acquire and rehabilitate distressed or boarded up homes, in order to see individual families increase as we see Northwest Rising.
We believe the future of our city is in the hands of our Youth
The digital divide is a glaring obstacle in our community. We are dedicated to starting a technology center to provide access to resources in our community. We see our YOUTH as the future. We are in development of a digital training lab that will allow our youth to have access to education with programming, robotics, networking and computer assembly.
It is time to play together!
Community Softball+ summers where neighbors come together for a time to play. Hosted at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Rockton Ave., the Churches and residents of Northwest Neighbors have a great time with a playground for the kids, gym for basketball and the hit of the summer SOFTBALL+.
Summer 2024 is now being planned with a Kickoff BBQ and community outreach.

“Together we make a difference.”
Let's ride! Mel Anderson Slow Roll
The Mel Anderson bike path is one of the greatest “Secrets” of the Northwest Rockford area, running from Anna Page Park all the way south of Auburn on a paved bike path. Northwest Neighbors helped establish a “Slow Roll” where kids, neighbors, friends and families come together to enjoy time on the path.
What a great time this October!
We are looking forward to the
2024 Mel Anderson Slow Roll!
